Ciao fratello

Ciao fratello” is how Darren would start whenever we spoke. It’s also used in Italy to say goodbye, even when people leave this life.

I’ve been thinking about him today. It’s four years since we lost him.

We are both half English, half Welsh. I think he would have been chuffed that last night I started a beginner’s course to learn Welsh. Whenever they played rugby against each other I supported England and he Wales. We’d both sing the Welsh National Anthem with pride though.

I suppose now I should say “Hwyl frawd“.
