They say you never know what’s around the next corner. Who knew it would be something quite familiar.
It’s a long story. We agonised about it for many hours whilst walking the dogs. Here’s the short version…
We still haven’t sold our house in Italy but we did receive an offer on the London apartment. Despite the asking price being the same as we paid for it 12 years ago, the offer was significantly below that.
Meanwhile we started using the place to enjoy London whilst we still had it. And there’s the rub.
Having enjoyed theatre, galleries, restaurants and pubs in the capital with and without the dogs a train of events started with Jan saying “I’ve really enjoyed being in London. I think I want to come back”
Fast forward a few months.
We’re now back in our London apartment and really enjoying it. Phoebe and Bobby have adapted very well City living. We’ve found a Greyhound walking group and a place nearby where they can safely do zoomies. They get lots of attention from strangers, so they’re fine.
We’ve explored lots of parks and walks for Phoebe and Bobby, done loads of little DIY jobs, sold some stuff, bought some stuff.
Colin has dropped straight back into riding with and volunteering at Islington Cycling Club.

Trish, Cameron & Maddie, Jacqui & Oscar (recently engaged) and Graeme were in town for a weekend and then we spent an evening with them, Siân, Rob, Harry and Millie in the Cotswolds.

So what about the foreseeable future? We’ll be staying put for the moment, at least until the property martket picks up.
Meanwhile, we’ve signed up for courses. In January Jan starts a professional cooking course at the Prue Leath Culinary School and Colin has signed up for Welsh language lessons.

After all the changes over the last 6 years we’re back where we started.
Living in London and going to our Italian place for holidays.
We wonder what’s around the next corner?…

I mean it’s just brilliant to have ya both back. New / Old city, but all new adventures to come!
